When I was doing my undergraduate degree at the University at Albany it was Cornerstone Protestant Campus Ministry that helped me form friendships with and get to know people who I hope to stay in contact with for the rest of my life. After Graduation I was also able to serve as a member of the Cornerstone Board of Directors, so for a brief period before coming to Drew I was able to see how Campus Ministry is done from many sides. It is with great pleasure that we thank Mrs. Dorothy Ellinwood and Mr and Mrs Eugene and Lucy Gee from McKownville United Methodist Church for their contributions to this wonderful ministry.
I came to the University at Albany just like many of the other freshmen, with the exception that I had a few (or many) years on them, I was just as lost and overwhelmed on Orientation Day as any of the thousands of other incoming students among the over Seventeen Thousand member Student Body.
Day one, or orientation day, happens to be one of the biggest days of the year for Cornerstone Protestant Campus Ministry Chaplin Rev. Sandra Damhof. That is the day when she and her Student Leaders mobilize to; hand out bottled water, help move mini-refrigerators; redirect lost students (and parents), and stand by to pitch in wherever needed so that everyone gets where they need to be.
